9 am Traditional Worship
At 9 a.m. on Sundays, we celebrate a more traditional service of worship. Its structure and its style of music are rooted in the historical practices of the United Methodist tradition, but are updated for our present day. In and through the flow of traditional worship we seek to enter into God’s presence. The worship service includes organ music, prayer, affirmations of faith, scripture, and faithful proclamation. We sing the great hymns of the church as well as occasionally adding in some more contemporary selections. There are also sung responses, as well as times for prayer and contemplation as the organist lifts up preludes, offertories, and postludes.
It is a joy to say that our traditional worship, while more formal in style, still has the warmth and intimacy of a faith-family celebration. There is never a sense of just going through the motions!
10 am Contemporary Worship
At 10 a.m. on Sundays, people of all ages engage in a relaxed, while still energy-filled, service of worship. We follow a structured, but still flexible order of worship, which includes times for prayer, a children’s message, the reading of scripture by members of our church family, moments to share our joys and concerns .. and to lift them up in prayer, and a biblically-based, Christ-centered, life-relevant message by the Pastor. This service is brightened and inspired by congregational singing with the New Hope Praise Band. For this service; the lyrics are projected onto screen so you can follow along.
Casual dress is always appropriate at 10:00 service. Your presence in worship, not what you wear, matters most to us!
11 am Traditional Worship
Similar to our 9 am Traditional Worship service; its structure and its style of music are rooted in the historical practices of the United Methodist tradition, but are updated for our present day. In and through the flow of traditional worship we seek to enter into God’s presence. The worship service includes organ music, prayer, affirmations of faith, scripture, and faithful proclamation. We sing the great hymns of the church as well as occasionally adding in some more contemporary selections. There are also sung responses, as well as times for prayer and contemplation as the organist lifts up preludes, offertories, and postludes.
In addition to the organists playing in this service; we typically have the adult choir that performs traditional hymns during this service. It is a joy to say that our traditional worship, while more formal in style, still has the warmth and intimacy of a faith-family celebration. There is never a sense of just going through the motions!
Children Ministries
At New Hope, children are a top priority! Our nursery is staffed by two adults for children ages 4 and under during the 10am services on Sunday mornings. If you would like to attend with your children during the 11am service, we do have tie-dye print activity bags filled with various items in the narthex area to help keep children occupied during service.
New Hope offers excellent Bible study opportunities for our children in Pre-K through 7th grade during our Sunday School, which is held during the 10am service on Sunday mornings during the school year. Children start in service with their families and exit to Sunday School after the Children’s Message. Our classes are taught by amazing volunteers from our church family who have answered God’s call to serve and who are committed to teaching and learning alongside the children in our church.
Middle school and high school students are in the main service on Sundays, but Wednesday Night they meet with their own age group. Additionally, on Wednesday Night during the School Year, we offer activities that are not only intended to create a time for fun and fellowship, but also designed to aid in the spiritual development of the youngest members of our community of faith. A meal is served weekly on Wednesday nights for the convenience of the families we serve.
Sunday School
This year, all PreK-7th graders are welcome to join our Sunday School classes, held during the 10 service weekly during the school year. Each week is an independent lesson, so students that attend less frequently won’t have the feeling that they have missed something. This year, we are using the Simply Loved curriculum.
Our classes are taught by dedicated adult volunteers on a 5-week rotation. You can feel confident that your children are safe with people that have a heart to serve and mentor the children we work with! Each classroom is staffed with a minimum of two volunteer teachers each week.
2024/2025 Sunday School Calendar
Youth Ministries
We have two youth groups referred to as B.L.A.S.T. -- Believing, Learning, Assisting, Serving, Teens that meet on Wednesday nights.
Jr. BLAST (6th-8th grades) and Sr. BLAST (8th - 12th grades)
Each meeting begins with socializing and an opening activity, before discussions and other activities. We meet at church at 6:30pm on Wednesday nights during the school year. The each group participates in a variety of mission projects and fundraisers throughout the school year, which will go to help the group raise money for their summer work trip.
8th Grade Confirmation
Confirmation provides a path for our youth to learn and practice claiming baptism and church membership as their own. Guidance for this discovery is offered by our Pastor and a mentor from our church members.
